Shepherds Friendly has appointed Michael Williams as our first Chief Change Officer, marking a significant step in our ongoing transformation journey as we prepare for our 200th anniversary in 2026.
Bringing over 15 years of experience in leading complex change initiatives, his appointment underscores our commitment to modernising our products and services to meet the evolving needs of our members.
In his new role, Michael will be responsible for spearheading key transformation programmes and ensuring they align with the Society’s long-term strategic goals. He will also play a central role in the executive leadership team, helping to shape our future.
Michael joins from Schroders Personal Wealth, where he served as Portfolio, Programme and Project Lead since 2020. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at PwC, most recently as North Change Team Leader, where he led project assurance efforts across a diverse client base from scaling start-ups to global enterprises.
Commenting on his new role, Michael said:
“I’m extremely excited to join Shepherds Friendly, an organisation of like-minded people with a great workplace culture. I look forward to working with teams across the Society to determine which initiatives are best aligned with its strategy and provide the best value to members, then delivering on these with integrity.”
Ann-Marie, CEO, welcomed his appointment, saying:
We’re delighted to welcome Michael into our team at what is a exciting time for both our organisation and the mutual sector. We anticipate significant growth and change in the near future, and Michael’s experience in guiding businesses through similar processes will be invaluable as we move forward.”
