We are proud to share that Investors in People has awarded Shepherds Friendly with a ‘We Invest in People’ Platinum accreditation for a second time. This is recognition of our commitment to creating a culture of excellence where our people can develop and grow.

A worldwide accreditor, Investors in People make it their mission to showcase businesses that go above and beyond for their employees, making sure that work is a place to hone both their professional and personal skills.

The award is the highest level possible to achieve on the ‘We invest in People’ accreditation and is something less than 1% of organisations achieve. For a company to be rated Platinum, everyone, no matter their job role, knows what part they play in making sure that the Society is a success, as well as always looking for ways we can improve.

A recent study from Forbes explained that a happy and engaged workforce can be up to 20% more productive, highlighting that employees want to feel like they matter, what they do has an impact and they’re making progress both personally and for the organisation.

We share Investors in People’s belief that the success of an organisation begins and ends with its people. That’s why we have a strong focus on employee happiness at Shepherds Friendly.

We continually think of innovative ways to keep our team engaged, from regular Together Days with updates from our Chief Executive, Ann-Marie O’Dea, to volunteering opportunities in the local community, diversity and inclusion training, social events and much more. It’s important to us that we keep that feeling of being a close-knit and connected team.

People & Culture Manager, Fran Mulcahy added: “We are delighted to be recognised for our efforts to make the organisation a place where our people feel supported and proud to be a part of. As a Society, it’s important that our members are receiving the best service and having a happy and engaged team is key to making this happen.

“We have held the Platinum accreditation since 2020, so by maintaining this level for another three years, we have shown our dedication to ensuring that everyone has what they need to thrive and make Shepherds Friendly a success.”
