Message to Members from New Chair of the Board, Nemone Wynn-Evans

You may have seen that we recently announced some changes within Shepherds Friendly’s Board of Directors. Our newly appointed Chair of the Board, Nemone Wynn-Evans, wanted to take a moment to address you, our members, for the first time in her new role.

A message from the Chair of the Board

Firstly, I’d like to express that it is both an honour and a privilege to be invited to serve Shepherds Friendly as Chair. I would also like to offer my sincere gratitude to our previous Chair, Joanne Hindle, for her many years of exemplary service to the Society and its members in the Chair role.

I am delighted to be stepping up from my Non-Executive Director role to chair the Board, as we continue to live our values of working together, doing the right thing and making a difference, all with our members in mind.

Having now been a member of the Board for several years, I have seen the Society evolve and grow before my eyes and what an exciting journey it’s been so far. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what’s next. From my time here, I can say with confidence that Shepherds Friendly is such a special place, wholly dedicated to making a positive difference to our members’ lives. Whether that’s through developing the range of products we offer or the high level of personal service we strive to provide to our members at every point of contact with us.

One of my favourite things about Shepherds Friendly is that, while we’re proud of our almost 200-year heritage, we’re always looking ahead. I can assure you that we’re working hard today to find new ways to best serve our members in 2021 and beyond.

None of this would be possible without the dedication and passion of our people; the team we have at Shepherds Friendly is truly exceptional. As a member, you are the priority to everyone who works here and everything we do puts you at the forefront. In my new role as Chair, I promise to remain committed to our valued members and to always champion your best interests.

Finally, I’d like to offer a sincere thank you to all of our members for being part of our Society, and a very warm welcome to anyone who has joined us recently. You’re at the heart of the Society and always will be.
