Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a great opportunity to have your say on how we’re run. This year, it will take place on Wednesday 30th September 2026.
What is the AGM?
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an event that takes place once a year where members of an organisation come together. At our AGM, we have an introduction from our Chair, followed by a summary of the previous year, before our resolutions and votes are discussed. There is also time dedicated to answering our members’ questions.
When is the AGM?
Our 2026 AGM will take place on Wednesday 30th September at 5.15pm.
How do I vote?
To make things easier, you can vote online again this year. Visit our voting page and use your individual voting number (found in your notice letter or email from us) to cast your vote. When you do this, you’re appointing the Chair of the meeting to be your proxy and instructing him how you would like him to vote on your behalf.
If you’d like to appoint somebody other than the Chair to act as your proxy at the AGM (this is someone who votes or attends the AGM on your behalf), please get in touch with our Company Secretary by email at agm@shepherdsfriendly.co.uk or by calling 0800 526 249.
If you’re joining the online AGM, you can also vote or ask questions on the day.

Making an impact
We want our AGM to make a wider difference, so for every vote submitted ahead of the AGM, we donated £1.00 to Seashell Trust. They are a national charity that supports children and young adults with complex disabilities.
This year, thanks to our members’ votes, we raised a total of £1,745 for Seashell Trust.

Is the AGM the only way I can give feedback as a member?
The AGM is not the only way you can keep in contact or share your thoughts. We encourage members to get in touch all year round in a variety of ways: through our Member Services team, regular feedback surveys throughout your time with us, or via our social media and review platforms.
We value all feedback and take it seriously. Our members really matter, so we aim to use feedback to improve our service and products.
