Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2019 AGM. Because we’re a mutual, Shepherds Friendly is run for and owned by you. So, it’s always great to see members being actively involved and having their say. More and more of you take part every year, giving us invaluable member insights and opinions that help to shape the Society.

What is an AGM?

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the meeting of the members of an organisation. It gives you a direct channel to share your views with our leadership. Every year, we invite our members to vote on key decisions affecting the Society and share their thoughts with us.

When did the most recent AGM take place?

This year, our AGM took place on Monday 17th June 2019 at our South Manchester head office, Haw Bank House.

As a member, is the AGM the only way I can share my feedback?

Members come first at Shepherds Friendly. This means that we always welcome feedback, as it helps us to keep doing the things you like and change the ones you may not like. We encourage members to share their views with us in a variety of ways:

  • Getting in touch with our Member Services Team
  • Completing regular feedback surveys (we will send you these throughout your time as a member)
  • Contacting us via social media

We take member feedback very seriously and use it to try and improve the service we offer you.

If you have any questions about the AGM, or if you would like further information, please contact our Member Services Team on 0800 526 249 or you can email them at [email protected]

We donate 25p to charity for every vote received

By voting in the AGM, you’re not only contributing to the future of the Society, you’re also helping a fantastic cause. We promise to match every AGM vote cast with a 25p donation to our nominated charity Seashell Trust, which supports children and young adults with complex learning needs. Last year’s AGM raised £495.50 for the charity, with a £962.25 total to date – just from members having their say!
