Our members’ voices matter and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a great opportunity for them to be heard. This year’s AGM will be taking place soon, so here’s a brief overview of everything you need to know.

Putting our members first is at the very heart of our values here at Shepherds Friendly. We pride ourselves on doing the right thing and trying to make a positive difference to members through the products and service we provide. And we know that a great way to make sure this happens is to listen to our members. That’s why every member is given the chance to have a say in how we’re run by voting in our AGM.

What is the AGM?

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the meeting of members of an organisation. Each year, we usually invite members to our Head Office in Cheadle to attend the AGM. As much as we enjoy meeting members face-to-face, your safety and that of our team comes first. So, due to Covid-19 health and safety restrictions, the 2020 AGM went ahead remotely with only our Board in attendance. Like this year, members were still offered the chance to vote online.

We’re currently still in the process of confirming how our AGM will take place this year. While Covid-19 restrictions are gradually being lifted, we are aware that government guidance may change in the near future. Please be assured that we will keep our members updated on this matter via this webpage.

When is the AGM?

Our AGM will take place on Tuesday 29th June 2021 at 4.30pm. All of our members are invited to vote ahead of the meeting. These votes can help to shape the future of Shepherds Friendly, so, if you are one of our members, we encourage you to use this chance to have your say. Every vote makes a difference!

How to vote

With members’ safety and convenience in mind, voting is taking place online this year. Each member receives a unique personal voting code via post, email or text, which allows them to access the online portal and submit their votes.

If you’re a member and you would like to submit your votes, head to agm.shepherdsfriendly.co.uk. Don’t forget, you’ll need your personal voting code. Deadline for online votes: Monday 28th June at 12.00pm.

If you cannot vote online, you can still have your say over the phone. Simply contact our Member Services team on 0800 526 249 before Friday 25th June at 4.00pm to vote.

Is the AGM the only way I can offer feedback as a member?

The AGM is not the only way you can keep in contact or share your views with us. We encourage members to get in touch in a variety of ways: through our Member Services team, regular feedback surveys throughout your time with us, or via our social media and review platforms.

We value all feedback and take it seriously, with the aim of using it to improve our service and products for the people who matter – our members.
