We are pleased to announce that Shepherds Friendly’s Chief Executive, Ann-Marie O’Dea has been appointed as the Chair of the Association of Financial Mutuals (AFM) Board.

Ann-Marie replaced Stuart Trangheim, who recently stood down following his retirement from Holloway Friendly where he was Chief Executive.

The AFM is a trade body that is committed to protecting and supporting the mutual sector for the benefit of customers and members throughout the UK.

The mutual way

At Shepherds Friendly, we’re committed to building a responsible and sustainable future. We believe that everyone can benefit, our members, people, and society.

As Chair of the AFM Board, Ann-Marie will help to bring positive outcomes to both our members and the industry as a whole.

Ann-Marie O’Dea commented: “I am delighted to be taking over as Chair of the AFM Board, I am passionate about mutuality and the benefits it can bring to our members.

“We have an exciting agenda ahead of us, including making the case for mutuality in the run-up to the General Election, creating new opportunities for AFM Members, and continuing to help those members navigate the complex regulatory environment.

“I would also like to thank Stuart Tragheim for the great contribution he has made to the AFM over the years.”
